Dr. Sahil Gandhi completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Physics at Kent State University, Ohio, USA. He has a highly inter-disciplinary background with experience in subjects such as chemical synthesis, materials formulation, analytical testing, soft matter physics, process development for high-volume manufacturing and quality assurance. His doctoral dissertation resulted in the publication of five peer-reviewed journal articles reporting the development and characterization of bio-derived, stimuli-responsive and nanostructured materials for applications such as biosensors, drug delivery, opto-electronic devices and display technology. Before moving to Canada with his family, Dr. Gandhi worked in companies and universities in India, Germany, the Netherlands and the United States and his professional endeavors have involved diverse themes such as R&D and manufacturing of plant-based fiber composites for environment-friendly products, synthesis of polymer microgels as model material systems for sensory characterization of food products, fabrication of micro-structured films for smart optical devices, and development of nanocomposites for vehicle components. Part of Dr. Gandhi’s motivation behind moving to Canada was to be part of the thriving Cannabis industry here and hence, prior to joining the GrowX team, he gained experience in Health Canada’s regulatory processes by working as a QA contractor with a late-stage ACMPR applicant in British Columbia.
